HD and Video Sources

I ask only because I noticed it's no longer on the FS site; I don't mean "Out of Stock", simply gone completely.

As well, on FS's sister company's website, the page is still there but out of stock and no stores have them eithere.

Seems quite strange.  Are they abandoning Canada after only giving us a half-hearted effort anyway, or are they regrouping to maybe offer us something worthwhile?

I haven't seen any discussion elsewhere about Tivo leaving Canada. The only discussion has been about what you already know which is that Tivo doesn't have much of a market in Canada - probably because most people are happy with the features provided by the PVR boxes rented and sold for use with Canadian cable and satellite TV providers. Future Shop's dropping of the Tivo product line probably reflects that situation.

So, no FS staff members have anything to add as to why FS no longer carries Tivo?

Likely, Future Shop employees are not at liberty to discuss their company's marketing plans in a public forum.

In fairness, confirming the decision to drop (if that is in fact what has happened) a single product from their inventory could hardly be considered disclosing the company's marketing plan.   I very much doubt most FS staff on here are even made aware of corporate strategic marketing initiatives anyway.   

I guess I'll have to do some research on my own as it doesn't appear there's an answer forthcoming here.
