Thanks for posting your question and joining the community
You did not state which operating system you are on. Also, you may want to download the latest software/drivers for your device here.
This is taken directly from the MS help file for your device. I do not own one of these cameras, so I cannot say for sure. But this looks like it should work
To change the LifeCam resolution
.
To take a high-definition photo to print
The highest photo resolution depends on the LifeCam model.
I hope this information helps, if you have any questions, feel free to ask

I'm having this very same issue, and am wondering if there was a resolution ever found for this? The problem is with the resolution choices offered in the drop-down menu under the Resolution tab in Settings. There is ONLY ONE choice for resolution - 160x120 - when there should be others up to 1680 x 720 (it says on the box). So - did anyone ever find more out about this?
Much appreciated.

I've got the exact same problem.
I've tried unplugging the LifeCam, uninstalling the software, reinstalling the software, an plugging it in again. Still the same resolution problem, 160x120 with no other options.
The most frustrating part is the very 1st time I ran the software it displayed a choice, (and I was able to select HD rez.) However the next time I ran it, 160x120 with no other options.
Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks

Ah-Ha...I got it!!!
I can across this in another posting :
"...I had the same problem. I discovered it had to do with using the camera through a USB hub after calling Microsoft. Try connecting it directly to the computer."
and lo n' behold, it worked!!!
I'm now Mr High Rez with an Afro! Way cool!!

Ok, I have fixed this issue.
If you are having problems getting higher resolutions it is beacuse your usb is using 1.1 and the camaera needs 2.0 for full function.
If you have plugged your camera in the back on the pc and still does not work make sure you have 2.0 enabled in the bios settings. I checked mine and only 1.1 was enabled, you must select 1.1 and 2.0 to be used my usb connections. This fixed my issue.
Hope this helps Regards Minter
