Hi there Mike thank you so much for the reply.
I searched the web as best I could for comstar's web page but came up empty so thank you.
The unit is over a year old and I don't have PSP so I'm out of luck that way.
I'm looking for the piece that powers the unit (ie: goes from the back of the unit into the electrical outlet). I did not think to purchase a model that was powered soley off the USB port! I have the USB cord for the data transfer but I need the cord that goes from the multi pinned outlet at the back of the unit and then into the wall to power it.
Does Comstar allow a user to purchase this cord....?
I look forward to your reply.
Cheers.

Hello
Sorry for the late response comstar generally will sell the parts under mfg warranty ( physically damaged ) but there's nothing to lose
If you tried.
But honestly if your warranty is over then it might be cheaper and faster if you purchased an external case to put your drive in.
Hope this helps

PS Does it look like this
<---- Standard PC power cord

Hi again Mike, no worries we've been working on this project for a couple of months now.
Hmm I hope they will make an exception in this case.
Sorry I'm a newb on this stuff, what do you mean by "purchase an external cast to put your drive in"? The Comstar unit is already in a metal case so do you mean to pull it out and put the actual hard drive disk into another case that will plug into the CPU?
No it does not look like that at all (ie: what you show is simular to the power cord that plugs into a monitor). The hard drive end of the plug has multi pins to it. I've taken a picture of the back of the unit but I can't figure out how to past the photo into this screen to show you.
Here are the numbers from the back of the unit: Comstar HDE5-500G/S FTY
S CM-MCHU-3.5USB
I'll try to send you a post with the photo.

Hello Again ![]()
What I mean about moving the hard drive into a different case is:
Buy an Empty external case and move the hard drive out of the current comstar casing. into the other External case.
I know what piece your talking about now ![]()
The piece you are looking for is going to be hard to get

Hey there Mike thanks for the quick reply.
Well guess what.....?
My partner just told me that she may not have lost the cord, its somewhere in her house and she has not made the time to look for it yet! Sorry I thought all locations had been keenly searched and came up with nothing. Turns out she moved her office upstairs and there was a PILE of STUFF sitting outside the old office. So I had a look through the many items and baboom, I found the dang power cord!!! Alls well that ends well I suppose.......
Sorry about all the efforts you have put into this project, what can I say....? You know the rest I'm sure :0) when it comes to these sort of "things".....
Take care and thank you once again!
Cheers.
